Job Summary:
The Human Resource & Development Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of HR functions, focusing on policy adherence, communication, employee engagement, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with local and federal labor regulations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Adherence and Procedures:
Ensure company policies and procedures are followed consistently across all HR functions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies to support compliance.
2. Communication:
Manage and distribute the company newsletter, "The Team Player."
Oversee employee communications via platforms such as Constant Contact.
3. Employee Engagement:
Administer employee surveys through designated platforms.
Manage employee recognition programs, including INCENTCO initiatives.
4. Recruitment:
Manage job advertisements on ADP and other hiring platforms.
Conduct background checks and other pre-employment screenings.
5. Onboarding and Offboarding:
Facilitate electronic onboarding processes and ensure timely completion of new hire paperwork.
Conduct New Hire Orientation, including coordination with managers, computer access setup, and electronic document management.
Handle termination processes, including communication with managers, deactivation of access, and proper filing of documentation.
Update relevant platforms and systems to reflect onboarding and offboarding changes.
6. Compliance with Local and Federal Labor Regulations:
Ensure compliance with labor laws across multiple states (MD, NJ, VA, SC, CO, FL).
Maintain and display required labor law posters, including OSHA and Workman’s Comp information.
Manage workman’s compensation claim submissions.
7. Benefits Administration:
Coordinate annual open enrollment and monthly benefits enrollments.
Manage beneficiaries and dependent information, ensuring updates are accurate.
Oversee employee financial wellness updates, including Your Money Line.
Administer employee recognition programs, including birthdays, anniversaries, and company apparel distribution.
Manage short-term disability claims and related benefit programs.
Qualifications:
A good clear command of the English language.
Proven experience in human resources or a related field.
Familiarity with HR software platforms such as ADP.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Internet speed minimum 30mbps
-i5 8th Gen or higher
-Windows 10 / MacOS Catalina or higher
-Minimum of 8 GB RAM
-Private and quiet dedicated home office area (no roosters, dogs, children's noises in the background)
-Back-ups in case of power or internet provider interruptions
-Good headset and webcam (Preferably noise-canceling headset)
